Chen Shao Qi

Hong Kong renowned lyricist and record producer. Chen’s music career spans 25 years with over 3,000 songs. He has won numerous pop music awards, and has been one of the most active and important music persons on the Chinese pop music scene since the 80’s. In recent years, Chen has also taken up the role of music producer for major charitable and national activities, and was awarded the ‘Chief Executive’s Commendation for Community Service’ at the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Honours and Awards Ceremony in 2010.

Before working in the music industry, Chen studied graphic design and photography in Hong Kong.  Although he chose to pursue a career in music after graduation, his passion for photography never subsided. Chen fuses imagery into his music, hence music critics often commend him for his graphical lyrics. He started to draw again lately, in the hope of extending his creative inspiration from words and photographs to sketches, thus broadening his personal scope of creativity.
